At Community Yarning, we believe in creating a safe and welcoming space for individuals to explore their inner world and navigate through life's challenges.

Our therapeutic approach centres on a psychoanalytic depth approach and relational psychotherapy process being psychosocial cultural in nature (Intersectionality: personal is political). We strive to provide personalized care that honours the unique experiences of each person. We are committed to empowering and collaboratively embarking on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and personal growth.

Therapy is beyond personal growth, it is to understand, experience and break generational patterns. You don't need to be in distress to seek therapy. There is no short of therapy! it is a slow, steady process and consistency is the key.

Our dedication to supporting individuals extends beyond the therapy room. We are deeply invested in the community, and we actively contribute to mental health awareness, education, and destigmatization initiatives. By engaging in meaningful conversations and collaborations, we aim to create a network of support and understanding. Whether you are seeking individual therapy, couples counselling, or family therapy, Community Yarning is here to accompany you on your path towards emotional wellness and meaningful connections. Together, we can weave a tapestry of healing and resilience.

Please note, that we are not a crisis intervention initiative. It takes 1-2 weeks to hear from us. Our mechanism for fostering community engagement is through group therapy, and monthly meet-ups both online and offline.

Types of Therapies

Range of Therapy

01

Individual Therapy

"Unexpressed emotions will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways."- Sigmund Freud

Individual therapy delves into the depths of human experience, aiming to foster profound personal growth and understanding. It explores the unconscious mind, uncovering hidden desires and unresolved conflicts, bringing them to light to heal and integrate fragmented parts of the self. At the same time, therapy encourages individuals to confront their deepest anxieties and embrace their freedom and responsibility. It provides a compassionate space to explore the fullness of oneself, reconnecting with neglected parts of the psyche. This journey helps individuals achieve greater self-awareness, authenticity, and fulfilment, ultimately guiding them towards a more meaningful and enriched life. Along with developing flexibility to adapt and cope with anxieties of everyday life, to stay within the unknown and ambivalence of the future.

02

Group Therapy

"The basic principle of group psychotherapy is that it is the group, rather than the therapist, that is the agent of change." - S.H. Foulkes

Group therapy harnesses the power of collective experience to promote healing and personal growth. It creates a dynamic environment where individuals can explore their emotions, behaviours, and relationships in the presence of others who share similar struggles. This setting provides a unique opportunity for members to gain insights into their own lives through the experiences and perspectives of others. It encourages open dialogue, mutual support, and the development of genuine connections.

Group therapy helps individuals recognize they are not alone in their challenges, fostering a sense of belonging and community. By participating in group therapy, individuals can achieve greater self-awareness, empathy, and interpersonal skills, leading to meaningful and lasting change.

03

Couples Therapy

"Communication leads to community, that is, to understanding, intimacy, and mutual valuing."- Donald Winnicott

Couple therapy is a type of psychotherapy designed to help partners improve their relationship. It creates a safe, supportive environment for both individuals to explore their feelings and understand each other's perspectives. The therapy works by identifying and addressing patterns of behaviour and communication that may be causing conflict or emotional distance. It focuses on improving communication skills, fostering empathy, and resolving unresolved issues. By working through these dynamics, couple therapy helps partners strengthen their emotional connection, build healthier interaction patterns, and develop a more satisfying and supportive relationship.
